What is dark art tattooing?
Dark art tattoos take the shadows most artists avoid and make them the subject: creatures with teeth, tentacles, and horns, skulls, biomechanical forms, and surreal, horror-inspired scenes. Robby Latos works entirely in black and grey, building each piece through layers of texture and contrast until it looks almost sculpted into the skin.
Clients travel to Damascus Tattoo Company in Damascus, Maryland, from across Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, and the rest of the United States for his large-scale dark art work, from forearm pieces to full sleeves and back pieces.
